Course Description:

OD/C/7250 is a comprehensive course aimed at equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in online learning and instructional design. The course covers various aspects of online education, including the development of an online user support system, the creation of a Learning Management System , and the design of online courses and instructional resources. Additionally, students will learn about the principles and methodologies behind designing e-Portfolios for a more holistic approach to online education.

Throughout the course, students will engage in practical exercises, collaborative projects, and case studies to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. By the end of OD/C/7250, participants will have gained a comprehensive skill set that enables them to design, implement, and manage effective online learning experiences. This course is ideal for educators, instructional designers, and anyone interested in the dynamic field of online education.

Course Structure

The course is divided into 11 modules, each module taking an average of two hours to complete. Each module has interactive activities and assignments for you to undertake. There will be five synchronous sessions  where you will interact directly with your facilitators. 

This is a self paced course  requires to find your appropriate time and place to interact with the content. 

 

Who is this Course for?

This course targets ALL trainees taking Diploma in Technical Education in Kenya Technical Trainers college and will be implemented over a ten-week duration, with participants committing up to 2 hours per week. Participants will learn from readings, videos,  discussions and self-practice exercises.
